I’m thrilled to share my inclusion in Empire Music’s ‘Night of the Prog’ photo book, commemorating my nearly decade-long role as the festival’s compère from 2015 to 2024.
As the face of the world’s largest prog festival, I had the privilege of announcing performances by some of the genre’s greatest talents to thousands of fans at the historic Loreley Amphitheatre. This iconic venue, atop a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has hosted legends like David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan, and it was an honour to continue that tradition.
Throughout this time, I worked closely with incredible artists, including Rick Wakeman, Steve Hackett, Annie Haslam, and Nick Mason, witnessing both profound moments of artistry and the human side of life on the road. From assisting backstage to performing as a guest violinist with Casey McPherson, every festival brought something new.
Empire Music’s stunning book captures the essence of Night of the Prog’s 17-year history, and I’m grateful to have been part of this extraordinary journey. This page reflects not only my role in the festival’s evolution but also the evolution of my own journey—experimenting with looks, styles, and connections in the prog world.
Here’s to the power of live music, the friendships forged along the way, and the indelible impact of prog on the global stage.
