This past weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of emceeing MidWinter Prog in Utrecht, and what an incredible event it was! The lineup was nothing short of amazing: Riverside, The Flower Kings, Rendezvous Point, Avkrvst, and Lesoir all delivered fantastic performances.
It was especially exciting to see Riverside play their only European show this year! Having the chance to hang out with these wonderful humans again and again is a treat! I love their crew as well. The loveliest bunch. A huge shoutout to Rob Palmen, the manager behind all these fantastic bands and the promoter of the festival, for putting together such a special event. The whole atmosphere felt so familiar, and it reminded me just how much I love being part of this scene.
Another fun first: I had my own dressing room! Definitely a small milestone worth celebrating.
I’m already looking forward to catching up with Rendezvous Point again (and Temic, whose members I also know personally) when they come to Porto in March.
After the end of the Night of the Prog festival last summer, it feels great to be back in the prog world, surrounded by such talented musicians and genuinely wonderful people!
